Sheep
Pasture-raised sheep from Base Camp Farm & Ranch in Rusk, Texas — raised on pasture and forage. During the 2026 dry season the flock receives a supplemental ration, so we make no grass-fed or grass-finished claim for animals raised from that point forward. Processed at a USDA-inspected facility (EST. 48219).
Raising standard: Pasture-raised and forage-based · No antibiotics for growth (treatment only, always recorded). Our flock is St. Croix and Dorper × St. Croix hair sheep. Enter any package tag on our Know Your Food page to see the animal's full life record. Grass-fed is a lifetime claim and it applies per animal — the record shows which animals carry it and which don't. Mutton currently in the freezer came from animals harvested in April 2026 that were grass-fed.
Cuts from mature animals are labeled mutton; cuts from young animals are labeled lamb.
