Our Standards

We use plain words on our labels, and we mean them literally. Here's exactly what each one means on our farm — and remember, every animal's record is on the Know Your Food page, so you can check.

Grass-fed & grass-finished (beef)

Our cattle are raised and finished on grass and forage — pasture, hay, and browse. We don't grain-finish our cattle. If an animal ever gets supplemental grain, or came to us from another farm, we record it on that animal's page and we don't sell it as grass-finished. Our sheep are pasture-raised and forage-based, but during the 2026 drought we supplement the flock with a purchased ration, so we make no grass-fed or grass-finished claim for sheep raised from August 30, 2026 forward. Grass-fed is a lifetime claim and it applies per animal — the record on the Know Your Food page shows exactly which animals are affected and from what date. Pork and poultry are not grass-fed; they're omnivores (see below).

Pasture-raised (all species)

Our animals live outdoors on pasture with room to move, root, and forage — not in confinement barns.

Non-GMO, soy-free supplemental feed (pork & poultry)

Pigs and chickens need more than grass. Their supplemental feed is Non-GMO and soy-free. We keep feed documentation on file.

Antibiotics

We never use antibiotics to make animals grow faster. If an animal gets sick, we treat it — that's basic animal welfare — and every treatment is recorded in that animal's own record. We don't use the absolute phrase "raised without antibiotics," because we won't let an animal suffer to protect a label.

Regenerative

We manage our pastures to build soil and biology over time — rotational grazing, cover, rest, and diversity — so the land is healthier each year.

Traceable

Every animal we harvest carries a tag and a written record. Animals we bring in from other farms start their record the day they arrive, and we say so. The tag number is on your package — enter it on Know Your Food and you'll see that animal's real record.

Processing

Our beef, pork, and lamb/mutton are processed at a USDA-inspected facility (EST. 48219). Our chickens are processed on-farm under the federal producer/grower poultry exemption (see our FAQ), which means they are sold within Texas, pickup only, and are never shipped.
